Robert Steven "Bobby" Singer owns and operates a car salvage yard in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. When his wife became possessed, he stabbed her in self defense. Rufus Turner came barging in, and exorcised the demon. This was Bobby's introduction into the supernatural. Since he was a regular hunter already, when Bobby became a Hunter his skills were usable against the supernatural. He became friends with John Winchester, and the boys - Dean and Sam. Last time he saw John, there was a disagreement and he threatened to shoot him full of buckshot, and cocked the shotgun. Contents |

The boys show up, looking for help in Devil's Trap. Dean wasn't sure they should come, because Bobby had promised to shoot John full of buckshot. Bobby points out John just has that effect with people, and with John in trouble, this is where they ought to be. He hands over a flask of holy water to Dean, along with one of whiskey laced with holy water to test if Dean is possessed. With the Key of Solomon book, Bobby helps them trap Meg. Bobby warns about Meg being possessed. Sam performs an exorcism, while Dean grills her over the location of his father. Meg gives up the information. Even though Bobby warns that with the exorcism the girl Meg dies, Dean insists on Sam to finish it and then the boys lay the girl down to help her be more comfortable in her last minutes. Bobby calls 911, and goes to grab water and a blanket. She confirms the information for Dean, telling them the demon wants them to go to the trap, right before she dies. Bobby tells them to leave before the paramedics get there, figuring something out to lie about. He hands the Key of Solomon book to Sam, telling them to find their Dad, and bring him around, promising to not even shoot him.
Sam calls Bobby for In My Time of Dying, and informs him that they had been T-boned by a truck and needed his help to tow the Impala. Bobby promises to be there, and gave an estimate when he will arrive. Sam meets him at the yard off I-83, and he informs Sam that the Impala is not worth a tow. Sam insists to not give up, and Bobby, understanding that it embodies Dean and to not give up on him, agrees to tow it home. Sam hands over a list of ingredients that John claims would be protection from the demon that he wants Bobby to obtain. However, Bobby recognizes them as ingredients for a spell to summon the demon. Sam realizes something is up, so Bobby tells him the truth. Bobby tows the Impala back to his yard, after handing over the ingredients to Sam.
The boys are at Singer Salvage at the start of Everybody Loves a Clown. They had just given their father a hunter's funeral, and are trying to deal with their grief. Dean is working on the crushed Impala when they caught a lead on one of John's old messages. Sam asks for permission to take one of Bobby's cars. He gives them a minivan that still needs work on the belt. They end up ditching it, afraid they'd be arrested. The boys come back to his yard, for Dean to finish working on the Impala.
A gruff older man, with a bit of a beer belly. Standing tall at 5' 11", with hazel eyes and light auburn/blonde hair, mustache, and beard - all of which are spinkled with gray. He generally wears worn blue jeans with solid color old T-shirts, jacket vests, and a ratty baseball cap.
Taking no crap from anyone, Bobby calls himself a paranoid bastard. He tests everyone with holy water for possession. Rough around the edges, he knows quite a few hunters and is the galvanizing force behind most of the hunting community. Bobby is smart and can dig into the lore like no one's business. He is a dog with a bone working through a hunt. He is best on his feet, in the thick of things.
Emotionally damaged from his father, Bobby never had kids of his own. He was very protective of his wife, running off the boys from his property rather than give her up as a zombie. Early on, he is considered the community's drunkard. Rufus tells Bobby that the boys are his weakness, but Bobby does not believe so. During season 5, Bobby is in a wheelchair, and feeling low; every day he considers blowing his brains out.
In Swan Song, trying to distract Lucifer, Bobby shot him twice. To retaliate, Lucifer snapped Bobby's neck, killing him. Later on, Castiel knelt down next to Bobby and healed his broken neck, bring him back to life.
Bobby was shot in the head by Dick Roman in How to Win Friends and Influence Monsters, but died in Death's Door.
Castiel met Bobby through the boys, and considered him a close friend after a bit. However, in season 6, after Sam came back soulless and Castiel burned Crowley's bones, Bobby became suspicious of Castiel. Turned out for a good reason, and Bobby then treated Cas as an enemy while he was trying to open Purgatory. After Castiel turned into Godstiel, Bobby was careful not to upset him. Castiel then died, and Bobby was killed before Cas came back.
Crowley popped in on Bobby during the Apocalypse, and with Bobby's soul as a crossroads deal, Crowley helped find Death and end the Apocalypse. The crossroads deal also gave Bobby his legs back. Bobby had to work to get his soul back in season 6, but demanded to keep his legs. Bobby, as part of Team Free Will, worked against Crowley opening Purgatory. Crowley kept his demons out of the boys way until they dealt with the Leviathans; Bobby died before Dick was taken care of.
Ellen Harvelle knew Bobby in the hunting community. She helped Bobby with the fight against opening the devil's gate. Her death hit him hard. In another timeline, Bobby married Ellen.
Sheriff Jody Mills would arrest Bobby for drunk and disorderly for years before she was introduced to the supernatural world. Jody and Bobby then had a close relationship, where she would help him or he would help her. There was some possibility of romance, but they never got beyond a quick kiss before he died.
Ed Singer was Bobby's abusive father. Bobby ended up shooting and killing him to protect his mother.
Karen Singer was Bobby's wife. She wanted kids, but with his abusive father claiming he breaks everything he touches, Bobby was afraid and told her no, to his regret. After she was possessed, Bobby stabbed her before Rufus exorcised the demon and she died. Death took a stroll through the graveyard and she was resurrected as a zombie for a short time. Bobby was forced to kill her twice, to his eternal regret.
Mrs. Singer was Bobby's mother. She tried to keep Bobby "good" so his father would not get upset, and then blamed Bobby when he tried to protect her.
Rufus Turner saved Bobby from the demon in his wife, and taught Bobby the hunting lifestyle after introducing him to the supernatural. They hunted together as partners until they had a falling out after Omaha.
Dean Winchester was Bobby's "adopted" son. Bobby acted as a surrogate dad for him when John died. Bobby was even able to take control from a demon possessing him to stab himself, rather than Dean. Bobby once admitted to Dean that he was Bobby's favorite. Bobby gave Dean advice, was an ear to listen to, and looked up lore for the hunter.
John Winchester was a friend and hunting associate. When the boys were little, Bobby would watch John's sons during a few of John's hunts. The last time the two of them saw each other alive, Bobby threatened John with a shotgun to run him off.
Sam Winchester was Bobby's "adopted" son. Bobby acted as a surrogate dad for him when John died. Bobby gave Sam advice, was an ear to listen to, and looked up lore for the hunter.
Bobby's full name is Robert Steven Singer (Lazarus Rising).
