Biography
In Asylum on April 6, 2006, Sam calls Caleb up trying to find John. John comes to Caleb for munitions, but Caleb hadn't heard anything from John for a while. He asks Sam where John was last and assures Sam over the phone that he will call if he hears anything.
In Shadow, Dean calls Caleb in May 2006, for help with a little research. Caleb finds out that the symbol is Zoroastrian, very old school. It's a sigil for a Daeva, or "demon of darkness". Savage, animalistic, nasty attitudes, they have to be summoned or conjured to be controlled. Very risky, too, because they tend to bite the controller if the person isn't completely in control. No one has seen them for a couple of millenia, so nobody knows what they look like.
Caleb finds Paster Jim in Salvation on July 13, 2006, calling John Winchester to let him know the particulars - that Pastor Jim had this throat slit and bled out. There was also sulfur. Later in the day, a demon shows up as a pretty blonde girl at his place in Lincoln, Nebraska. She ties Caleb up and makes a phone call to John, through Sam's phone, to force John to hand over the Colt. Caleb tries to tell John not to give up the Colt, but the demon pulls the phone away with a shushing motion to him. After telling John she knows that he has the Colt, she listens for a moment and then slices Caleb's throat, holding the phone close so John can hear Caleb gasping and drowning in his own blood.
