Rather than taking Kat out to a movie, Gavin decides to visit the old haunted Roosevelt Asylum. So on April 7, 2006, Gavin and Kat arrive at the Roosevelt Asylum. She's not so eager to go exploring, so he drops his bag with her and goes himself. She doesn't like it, and she starts seeing ghosts. She calls for Gavin, but he doesn't show. He screams from somewhere. Panicking, she runs into a small room, hiding her face against the wall to keep from seeing anything else.
After a while, the sideways bed she is hiding behind tips over, and she spins around to face whatever is there. It's Dean and Sam. They ask her why she's here, and she tells them that Gavin thought it would be fun to try to see some ghosts. At first Dean wants Sam to take her out of there, but she doesn't want to leave without Gavin. So Dean takes her along, and Sam goes off by himself.
At one point Dean's flashlight gives out, so he pulls out a lighter. But his grip is so tight on her arm, Kat tells him that he's hurting her. Dean's confused. They look down at her arm, and there is a disembodied hand gripping her arm! She screams as she is pulled into a room. The metal door slams shut behind her. She freaks out inside the room, banging on the door and calling for help as Dean works frantically with a crowbar trying to pry the door open, but he is unable to. A ghost shows up. Kat is trying to get as far away from it as possible. When Sam arrives he works out that it is trying to communicate with her, not hurt her. Sam yells through the door at Kat that she has to face it, calm down, and listen. She's terrified, but she looks over at the grotesque ghost, and it leans in close to her face. It whispers "One thirty-seven" and then disappeared. The door opens, and she walks out into Gavin's arms. She tells them it whispered 137. Sam and Dean talk for a bit, and then Sam is taking Gavin and Kat out.
Problem is, when they come to the door, it won't budge. Sam goes to try to find another way out, but there isn't any way. Gavin starts to panic, but Sam gets a call on his phone, supposedly from Dean, and he has to go help. Sam asks if either of them can handle a shotgun, to which Gavin responds, "No!" But Kat can, because her dad took her skeet shooting a couple of times. She gets the shotgun, and Sam leaves to go to the basement.
As Gavin paces, Kat is crouching next to the wall. She informs him if they make it out of there alive, she is breaking up with him. They hear a noise, and Kat shoots, but it's only Dean. Dean wonders where Sam is, but Gavin and Kat tell him that he called Sam and Sam went to the basement. With a warning to watch out for themselves and for him, Dean leaves.
The next morning Dean and Sam are back, walking a bit slow like they were hurt, but all the doors opened and everyone was able to get out. Kat and Gavin thank them for saving them. Dean tells them no more haunted asylums, and they leave in Gavin's car.
