Mordechai Murdoch is first heard of when Craig tells Jason, another guy, and a girl. He claims he heard it from his cousin Dana, that Mordechai lives in the root cellar. Mordechai goes after girls, always girls, and just strings them up to hang them. Supposedly back in the '30s, the farmer Mordechai Murdoch used to live in the house with his six daughters. It was during the Depression and his crops were failing. He didn't have enough money to even feed his own children. He figured it was best if his girls died quick, rather than starve to death. He attacked them, strung them up, one after another, before hanging himself. Now he's imprisoned in the house.
People told other people, who told others, and then Harry Spangler and Ed Zeddmore put everything on their website HellHoundsLair.com.
Jill came into the house on a dare, and Mordechai grabs her and hangs her.
Someone else posted to the website that Mordechai was really a Satanist who chopped up his victims with an axe before slitting his own wrists. Now he's imprisoned in the house for eternity.
Dean and Sam come down to the cellar to investigate, and Mordechai attacks them with an axe. Raising it high above his head, Sam, then Dean, shoot him with rock salt. He disappears, only to reappear, swinging his axe down and catching the shelves with the canned jars on it, causing them to fall on Dean. Mordechai turns to fight Sam, bringing his axe down but Sam catches it with his shotgun. Sam yells at Dean to run, twisting his shotgun to get out from under it. Sam turns to run. Mordechai swings his axe again, missing Sam and hitting the electrical box causing sparks to fly everywhere. He races up the steps after the boys, getting as far as the front door, watching Dean and Sam run away. Ed and Harry see him, but Harry grabs Ed and they take off running as well. Mordechai disappears.
The next night Mordechai reappears, rushing out of the cellar as Dean and Sam fire wrought iron special rounds from a .45. He disappears in a mist, to come back with his axe and chop the camera that Harry holds in his hand. He disappears again. Ed and Harry race to the door, but Mordechai is there with his axe. They run to the back door, and Mordechai follows them. Before he can attack, Sam is there, calling him to come get it, you ugly son of a bitch. Mordechai swings the axe, and it imbeds into the wood. Wrestling with it eventually pulls it out and he swings again. Sam grabs the axe, and they wrestle, ending up with the axe handle over Sam's throat. Sam yells for Harry and Ed to leave, and later yells for Dean because he's losing the fight. Dean shows up with a homemade torch, blowing fire at Mordechai, who turns Sam loose. Mordechai runs after Dean and Sam, who have lit up the house with fire and ran. He stands at the front door, growling into the night, before he disappears and the house burns down.
Mordechai takes the form of a corpse of a tall male human.
