When Lori went to college, Reverend Sorensen gave her a silver cross necklace that was an heirloom of the church. He was disappointed in the fact she joined a sorority, and they tended to have fights over this. She claimed she was 18 and could live her own life, but he knew what type of “living” happened at the sorority house and just didn’t want her involved.
The Sunday after Lori’s boyfriend Rich was killed, Rev. Sorensen was preaching the normal Sunday sermon. However, during the sermon two college boys came into the church, interrupting the service. Afterwards, Lori introduces them as Sam and Dean, and Dean talks with Rev. Sorensen about joining a possible church group. He is happy to see young people who are open to the Lord’s message, and they go off by themselves to talk.
That Sunday night, after he cooks supper for the two of them, he drives Lori back to her sorority house. They have another fight about her life, before she slams the car door and leaves.
Monday morning Rev. Sorensen is back on campus, this time to pick up Lori from the ambulance who was treating her for shock. Lori’s roommate Taylor was killed, and Lori is now a murder suspect. The reverend asks the sheriff if he can take her home, and after assuring him that she will be available for questioning, he is allowed to do so.
Monday afternoon, in doing laundry, Lori finds a condom packet in her dad’s pants pocket. That night she confronts him and they have another fight - this time about the secret affair that he’s been having with a married woman in the church. Lori doesn’t like the fact that the woman has a family with kids, but he assures her that they are happy together. She storms outside.
Later, after realizing she is with Sam on the bench outside and they were just kissing, Reverend Sorensen calls out to Lori to come inside. She gets angry with him, telling him she’ll come in when she’s ready, when he is suddenly attacked from behind. With a large hook into his chest, the front door in front of him is slammed shut and he is dragged upstairs into his bedroom. He is screaming for his life - this monster with a hook keeps attacking him. Suddenly Sam is there, shooting a gun, and the monster leaves as if he was made of smoke, and his daughter drops her her knees next to him crying.
Tuesday, after being admitted to the hospital, the sheriff comes by to take statements from Sam, Lori, and Reverend Sorensen. Lori stays by her father’s bedside all day, before leaving to go pray at the church that night.
Wednesday he finds out from Lori that the monster tried to attack her at the church, but with Sam and Dean’s help she wasn’t hurt. She tells him that it’s over, that there will be no more attacks.
