Sheriff Pierce first runs into the Winchesters while investigating the disappearance of Troy Squire. He later arrests Dean for impersonating a U.S. Marshal. He's the first in the series to suggest that John Winchester started the killings and that Dean and Sam are continueing his work. A bogus emergency call by Sam allows Dean to escape police custody.
