On Friday April 14, 2006 a young couple are eating at Scotty's Cafe. They are the sacrifices for this year, but a stranger John Bonham shows up and tries to mess things up, so Scotty calls the sheriff. The sheriff shows up to deal with John, ragging him until he left the cafe. The sheriff made sure to run the vagrant out of town, following his black Impala with the sheriff's car until they were 3 miles out. At that point the sheriff turns around and heads back, confident nothing will go wrong with this year's sacrifices.
Only, Vanir didn't receive them. John messes things up. The professor calls the sheriff to tell him that John has an appointment, so the sheriff shows up at the office. When John opens the door to walk out, the sheriff hits him with the rifle butt, knocking him out. He delivers the boy sacrifice to the cellar. The town elders congregate to figure out who else to sacrifice. Emily is decided.
When it is time for the sacrifices, they bring out John and Emily and take them to the orchard. They tie each to a different tree, and withdraw. While waiting for the scarecrow to come to life, Emily and two young fellas come running out. Everyone pulls out a gun and a flashlight to surround them. The sacrifice must be made. However, the scarecrow kills Harley, stabbing him through with the sickle. Stacey screams. The scarecrow turns on her, grabbing her as well. The sheriff takes off running, to protect his own life. The scarecrow takes both Jorgesons away, never to be seen again.
