EXT. ABANDONED HOUSE - NIGHT
Growl of Impala engine. The Impala pulls up next to the abandoned house and neighborhood. Dean opens the trunk, the props open the arsenal area with a pump shotgun. Dean removes two tasers.
Sam: What do you got those amped up to?
Dean: A hundred thousand volts.
Sam: Damn.
Dean: Yeah, I want this rawhead extra freakin' crispy. And remember, you only get one shot with these things.
Dean starts to close everything up.
Dean: So make it count.
Sam backs up as Dean closes the trunk lid.

INT. ABANDONED HOUSE - NIGHT
Sam and Dean start down the basement stairs with tasers and flashlights. Halfway down, they are covering each other's backs. Once at the bottom, they are sweeping the area. Hearing a noise, they move toward a cupboard.
Dean: (whispers) On three. One. Two. Three.
Dean swings open the door. There is a small frightened squeal. A young boy and girl are crouched inside, covering their ears. Dean and Sam are panting.
Sam: (whispers) Is it still here?
The children nod.
Dean: (to the boy) Ok. Grab your sister's hand, come on, we're gonna get you out of here. Let's go, let's go.
They move towards the stairs. Dean has his flashlight and taser back up and in the ready position.
Dean: Alright, go!
The children run ahead of Sam up the stairs. As Sam is running, a hand grabs one of his legs, knocking him down, where he's sliding down the stairs. The children scream and run to the top of the stairs. Sam grunts.
Dean: Sam!
Dean jumps over the last few steps and races around to get a clear shot behind the steps. He shoots the taser but misses. A growl is heard.
Dean: Sam, get 'em outta here!
Sam throws his taser to Dean.
Sam: Here, you take this!
Sam scrambles up the stairs and moves the children out of sight, presumably outside.
Sam: Alright, let's go!
Dean moves around the basement on high alert, shining his torch into corners.
Dean: Come on!
A ragged, hairy creature leaps up and shoves Dean backwards. Dean loses his weapons and flashlight as he falls. He glances around, scrambles across puddles of water to grab the taser and releases it toward the creature as it moves toward him, electrocuting him. Electricity moves down from the creature through the water lying on the ground to Dean. It shakes and twitches; Dean arches back in pain and moans slightly. The creature falls, while Dean's eyes roll back as he loses consciousness.
Sam runs down the stairs panting, and sees Dean in the corner, unmoving.
Sam: Dean!
He runs over and half lifts him.
Sam: Dean, hey. Hey. Hey.
Dean's head rolls, and Sam reaches up to steady him.

SUPERNATURAL

HOSPITAL

INT. HOSPITAL - DAY
Sam stands at the desk with a receptionist.

FAITH

Receptionist: Sir, I'm so sorry to ask. There doesn't seem to be any insurance on file.
Sam: Right. Uh, um, ok.
Sam removes a card from his wallet and hands it to receptionist. She glances at the card.
Receptionist: Okay, Mr. Burkovitz.
Sam sees two cops waiting and walks over.
Cop 1: Look, uh, we can finish this up later.
Sam: No, no, it's okay. We were just taking

Sam: we heard some screaming when we drove past the house, and we stopped. Ran in.
Cop 1: And you found the kids in the basement?
Sam: Yeah.
Cop 1: Well, thank God you did.
Sam turns, sees the doctor walking towards them.
Sam: (To cops) Excuse me.
The cop calls after Sam, who is heading towards the doctor.

Sam is fighting tears.
Sam: No, no. There's... there's gotta be something you can do, some kind of treatment.
Doctor: We can't work miracles. I really am sorry.
Sam doesn't want to hear this. He gives the doctor a quick nod then he walks away, visibly upset.

INT. HOSPITAL ROOM - DAY
Dean is flipping channels on TV. He is pale and has dark circle bruising around his eyes. He is hooked up to a heart monitor, with a blood pressure cuff on his left arm, and an IV in his left hand. Sam enters. Dean keeps his eyes on the TV.

Sam: What are you talking about? I'm not gonna leave you here.
Dean: (Serious) Hey, you better take care of that car. Or, I swear, I'll haunt your ass.
Sam: I don't think that's funny.
Dean: Oh, come on, it's a little funny.

Sam can NOT believe he's hearing this, shaking his head, looking away.
Dean: And I know it's not easy.
A short pause as Dean is barely shaking his head.
Dean: But I'm gonna die. And you can't stop it.
Sam's resolve has now firmed. He nods his head.
Sam: Watch me.
A ringing of a phone is heard.

INT. HOTEL ROOM - DAY
Camera pans across a bed covered in pages of research about heart care.
Voicemail: This is John Winchester. I can't be reached. If this is an emergency, call my son, Dean. 866-907-3235. He can help.
Sound of a beep.
Sam is fighting tears.

Sam: Hey, Dad. It's Sam. Uh...you probably won't even get this, but, uh...it's Dean. Oooo...He's sick, and uh...the doctors say there's nothing they can do. Um...but, uh, they don't know the things we know, right? Um, so, don't worry, cause I'm, uh...gonna do whatever it takes to get him better. Alright. Just wanted you to know.
Sam hangs up, tosses his phone on the bed and just sits there silently, tears in his eyes. There is a knock on the door and he looks up quickly. He opens it to find Dean leaning against the jam, looking terrible. Sam is surprised, happy, and confused all at once.
Sam: What the hell are you doing here?
Dean gives a snarky smile as he enters the room, leaning on everything within reach.
Dean: I checked myself out.
Sam: Are you crazy?
Dean: Huh, I'm not gonna die in a hospital where the nurses aren't even hot.
Dean shrugs. Sam huffs a laugh and shuts the door.
Sam: You know, this whole I-laugh-in-the-face-of-death thing? It's crap. I can see right through it.
Dean: Yeah, whatever, dude. Have you even slept? You look worse than me.
Sam helps Dean, who gives a quiet groan, to a chair.
Sam: I've been scouring the Internet for the last three days.
Dean settles into the chair with another quiet groan. Sam sits on the bed opposite Dean.
Sam: Calling every contact in Dad's journal.
Dean: For what?
Sam: For a way to help you. One of Dad's friends, Joshua, h-he called me back. Told me about a guy in Nebraska. A specialist.
Dean: You're not gonna let me die in peace, are you?
Sam: I'm not gonna let you die, period. We're going.
Sam has a hopeful smile. Dean just looks at Sam, before shaking his head in resignation.

HEALING DEAN

EXT. TENT - DAY
The Impala bumps along a rutted gravel road toward a large white circus tent set up in a field.
People make their way toward the tent across the very muddy ground, many on crutches, walkers, or helped by others. Sam climbs out and runs around to help Dean. Dean opens his door and looks around. A sign next to the tent reads "The Church of Roy LeGrange. Faith Healer. Sundays 11am & 2pm. Witness The Miracle". Grimacing, Dean starts to pull himself out of the car. Sam grabs Dean to help him up.

Sam: I got ya.
Dean: (angrily) I got it.
Dean pushes Sam away.
Dean: Man, you are a lying bastard. Thought you said we were going to see a doctor.
Dean shuts the Impala door.
Sam: I believe I said a specialist. Look, Dean, this guy's supposed to be the real deal.
Dean: I can't believe you brought me here to see some guy who heals people out of a tent.
An elderly woman with an umbrella passes by.
Woman: Reverend LeGrange is a great man.
Dean: (sarcastically) Yeah, that's nice.
They walk past an angry man remonstrating with a cop.
Wright: I have a right to protest. This man is a fraud. And he's milking all these people out of their hard-earned money.
Sheriff: Sir, this is a place of worship. Let's go. Move it.
They walk away.
Dean: I take it he's not part of the flock.
Sam: But when people see something they can't explain, there's controversy.
It's windy. Sam and Dean are walking slowly, in deference to Dean's health, towards the tent with the rest of the parishioners.
Dean: I mean, come on, Sam, a faith healer?
Sam: Maybe it's time to have a little faith, Dean.
Dean gives Sam a hard look.
Dean: You know what I've got faith in? Reality. Knowing what's really going on.
Sam: How can you be a skeptic? With the things we see everyday?
Dean: Exactly. We see them, we know they're real.
They stop in front of the tent to face each other to argue.
Sam: But if you know evil's out there, how can you not believe good's out there, too?
Dean: Because I've seen what evil does to good people.
Layla overhears, and interrupts.
Layla: Maybe God works in mysterious ways.
Dean is checking her out and smiling.
Dean: Maybe he does. I think you just turned me around on the subject.
Layla: Yeah, I'm sure.
Dean holds out his hand.
Dean: I'm Dean. This is Sam.
Layla takes Dean's hand.
Layla: Layla. So, if you're not a believer, then why are you here?
Dean: Well, apparently my brother here believes enough for the both of us.
Sam smiles softly, dropping his head slightly. Mrs. Rourke approaches and puts her arm around Layla.
Mrs. Rourke: Come on, Layla. It's about to start.
The women smile at Sam and Dean and move inside the tent. Dean looks after Layla.
Dean: Well, I bet you she can work in some mysterious ways.
Dean, then Sam, who is smiling and shaking his head at his brother, enter the tent. The announcer is barely heard.
Announcer: Ladies and Gentlemen, please be seated. We'll be starting in just a moment.
The sign at the entrance reads "Welcome All Faiths. True Believers Revival."

INT. TENT - DAY
The tent is full of people finding seats, a small stage at the front has a lectern with candles on it. There is soft music, and murmuring of people. Dean looks around, tilts his head to the corner.
Dean: Yeah, peace, love, and trust all over.
Sam follows his gaze to a security camera. Dean starts to take a seat near the back, but Sam puts an arm around him and moves him toward the front.
Sam: Come on.
Dean: Dude! Let's sit here.
Sam: We're sitting up front.
Dean: What? Why?
Sam: Come on.
Sam forcibly moves Dean up the aisle.
Dean: (growls) Oh, come on, Sam.
Sam: You alright?
Dean: This is ridiculous.
Sam continues to help Dean walk.
Dean: I'm good, dude,
He slaps Sam's left hand away, and Sam lets go of Dean.
Dean: get off me.
Sam points to two empty seats behind Layla and her mother.
Sam: Perfect.
Dean: (sarcastically) Yeah, perfect.
Sam moves in first.
Sam: You take the aisle.
Sam tries to help Dean sit, Dean raises a hand irritably. On stage, behind the lectern, a blind man wearing sunglasses, Roy LeGrange, has taken his coat off by a woman. Dean grimaces in pain, but relaxes in the seat.
Roy: Each morning, my wife, Sue Ann, reads me the news. Never seems good, does it?
The crowd agrees with him.
Roy: Seems like there's always someone committin' some immoral, unspeakable act.
As he speaks Sam sees a table onstage, filled with religious items. He notices an old wooden cross that is topped by a smaller cross in a circle.
Roy: But, I say to you, God is watching.
Crowd: (murmuring) Yes he is.
Roy: God rewards the good, and He punishes the corrupt.
Crowd is nodding, cheering and murmuring. The woman on stage is nodding her head.
Roy: It is the Lord, who does the healing here friends. The Lord who guides me in choosing who to heal, by helping me see into people's hearts.
Crowd: (murmuring) Amen.
Dean: (quietly, to Sam) Yeah, right into their wallets.
Roy: You think so, young man?
The crowd immediately falls silent.
Dean: Sorry.
Layla is uncomfortable.
Roy: No, no. Don't be. Just watch what you say around a blind man, we've got real sharp ears.
Crowd laughs. Dean smiles, just a bit.
Roy: What's your name, son?
Dean clears his throat, hesitating to answer.
Dean: Dean.
Roy: Dean.
Roy nods to himself.
Roy: I want-I want you to come up here with me.
The crowd claps. Layla and her mother are stunned. Sue Ann moves to center stage, smiling at Dean. Layla and her mother look at each other, before the mother glares up at the preacher. Sam is ecstatic. Dean shakes his head.
Dean: No, it's ok.
Sam: (whispers) What are you doing?!
Roy: You-you-you've come here to be healed, haven't cha?
Sam gives Dean a look. Dean is hesitating again.
Dean: Well, yeah, but ahh...
The crowd claps and makes encouraging noises.
Dean: ...maybe you should just pick someone else.
Dean shrugs. Sam looks at Dean like he's insane. The crowd claps loudly.
Roy: Oh, no. I didn't-I didn't pick you, Dean. The Lord did.
The crowd is getting more excited.
Crowd: That's right! Yeah! Come on!
Sam: (excitedly) Get up there!
Dean reluctantly rises. Sam breaks out into a huge grin. Dean moves toward the stage, using the tent pole to lean on as he passes. Sue Ann moves to assist and stands him next to Roy. Dean looks back at Sam, who is hopeful.
Roy: You ready?
Dean: Look, no disrespect, but ahh, not exactly a believer.
Roy smiles.
Roy: You will be, son. You will be. (to the crowd) Pray with me, friends.
Pain crosses Dean's face. The crowd lifts their arms up and joins hands with each other. Roy lifts his hands to the air, then reaches for Dean. He first touches Dean's shoulder, then moves on the side of his head. Sam is very hopeful, looking at the preacher and Dean.
Roy: (to himself) Alright now. Alright now.
Dean's eyes glaze over. He swallows. His legs weaken and he sinks to his knees, Roy's hand still on his head. Sam sits up straighter, eyes watching Dean.
Roy: Alright, now.
Dean wobbles, his eyes roll back in his head and he falls backwards to the stage floor.
Sam: Dean!
Sam jumps from his chair and runs to the stage. The crowd is clapping excitedly. Sam grabs the front of Dean's hoodie, shaking him. At first there is no response. Then Dean's eyes burst open and he gasps.
Sam: Say something!
Dean blinks groggily and looks up. Roy is standing above him, hands out from his sides, palms up, looking happy. Beside and slightly behind Roy a tall man in a black suit with white hair, very white and extremely wrinkled skin, comes into focus as he's turning away. He stares at Dean then vanishes. Dean watches him, shocked.
The screen goes black.

ACT TWO

HOSPITAL

INT. HOSPITAL CHECK UP ROOM - DAY
Sam is pacing, walking back to the bed. He's thrilled.
Sam: So, you really feel okay?
Dean looks unhappy.
Dean: I feel fine, Sam.
Doctor enters, reading paperwork.
Doctor: Well, according to all your tests there's nothing wrong with your heart. No sign there ever was. Not that a man your age should be having heart trouble, but, uh, still it's strange, it does happen.
Dean: What do you mean, strange?
Doctor: Well, just yesterday, a young guy like you, twenty-seven, athletic. Out of nowhere, heart attack.
Dean: Thanks, Doc.
Doctor: No problem.
Doctor leaves. Dean is convinced something is up.
Dean: That's odd.
Sam: Maybe it's a coincidence. People's hearts give out all the time, man.
Dean: No, they don't.
Sam: Look, Dean, do we really have to look this one in the mouth? Why can't we just be thankful that the guy saved your life and move on?
Dean stands up.
Dean: Because I can't shake this feeling, that's why.
Sam: (whispers) What feeling?
Dean has his back to Sam, putting on his jacket.
Dean: When I was healed, I just-I felt... wrong. I felt cold. And for a second... I saw someone. This, uh, this old man. I'm telling you, Sam, it was a spirit.
Sam: But if there was something there, Dean, I think I would've seen it, too. I mean, I've been seeing an awful lot of things lately.
Dean turns to face Sam.
Dean: Well, excuse me, psychic wonder. You're just gonna need a little faith on this one.
Sam rolls his eyes.
Dean: Sam, I've been hunting long enough to trust a feeling like this.
Dean gives him a stare. Sam sighs and smiles, giving his head a small shake. He's giving in to his brother.
Sam: Yeah, alright.
Sam sighs again.
Sam: So, what do you wanna do?
Dean: Why don't you go check out the heart attack guy? I'm gonna visit the reverend.

EXT. ROY LEGRANGE'S HOUSE/TENT - DAY
A camera shot across the field, with the tent to the side of the house's front yard. A breeze is blowing across the field.

INT. ROY LEGRANGE'S HOUSE - DAY
Sue Ann is filling a glass of iced tea.
Dean: I feel great. Just trying to, you know, make sense of what happened.
Dean looks across to Roy. Both are seated. Roy is nodding his head.
Sue Ann: A miracle is what happened.
Sue Ann sits on a couch.
Sue Ann: Well, miracles come so often around Roy.
Dean: (to Roy) When did they start? The miracles.
Roy: Woke up one morning, stone blind. Doctors figured I had cancer. Told me had maybe a month. So, uh, we prayed for a miracle. I-I was weak, but... but I told Sue Ann, 'You just keep right on praying.' I went into a coma. Doctors said I wouldn't wake up, but I did. And the cancer was gone.
Roy takes off his sunglasses; his eyes are white.
Roy: If it wasn't for these eyes, no one would believe I'd-I'd ever had it.
Dean: And suddenly you could heal people.
Roy: I discovered it afterward, yeah. God's blessed me in many ways.
Sue Ann: And his flock just swelled overnight. And this is just the beginning.
Dean is nodding his head thoughtfully.
Dean: Can I ask you one last question?
Roy: Course you can.
Dean: Why? Why me? Out of all the sick people, why save me?
Roy: Well, like I said before, the Lord guides me. I looked into your heart, and you just... stood out from all the rest.
Dean: What did you see in my heart?
Roy: A young man with an important purpose. A job to do. And it isn't finished.
Dean looks slightly surprised.

INT. SWIMMING LOCKER ROOM - DAY
Jason: I'm telling you, he seemed healthy. Swam every day, didn't smoke. So, a heart attack just kind of seemed, well, bizarre.
Sam: And you said he was running, right before he collapsed?
Jason: Yeah, yeah, he was freaking out. Said that something was, uh, after him.
Sam: Did he say what?
Jason: Well, thin air is what. I mean, it wasn't anything.
Sam: Alright, thanks.
As Sam is leaving he notice the clock on the wall isn't working.
Sam: Hey, buddy? Your, uh, your clock's busted.
Jason: Oh, yeah, we, uh, can't get it workin'. Just froze at 4:17.
Sam: Is that the same time Marshall died?
Jason: (surprised) How'd you know?

EXT. ROY LEGRANGE'S PORCH STEPS - DAY
Dean is leaving. Layla and her mother are waiting to go in.
Layla: Dean, hey.
Dean: Hey.
Layla: How you feeling?
Dean: I feel good. Cured, I guess. What are you doing here?
Layla: You know, my mom, she wanted to talk to the reverend.
Sue Ann comes onto the porch.
Sue Ann: Layla?
Layla steps up to Sue Ann, followed by her mother. Dean pauses on the way down, listening in.
Layla: (softly) Yes, I'm here again.
Sue Ann: Well, I'm sorry, but Roy is resting. He won't be seeing anyone else right now.
Mrs. Rourke: Sue Ann, please. This is our sixth time, he's got to see us.
Sue Ann: Roy is well aware of Layla's situation. And he very much wants to help just as soon as the Lord allows. Have faith, Mrs. Rourke.
Sue Ann goes inside. Mrs. Rourke stares then turns, looking at Dean.
Mrs. Rourke: (frustrated) Why are you still even here? You got what you wanted.
Layla: Mom. Stop.
Mrs. Rourke: No, Layla, this is too much. We've been to every single service. If Roy would stop choosing these strangers over you. Strangers who don't even believe. I just can't pray any harder.
Layla, embarrassed, looks away. Mrs. Rourke glares at Dean. Dean turns away from Mrs. Rourke to Layla.
Dean: Layla, what's wrong?
Layla: (hesitantly) I have this thing...
Mrs. Rourke: It's a brain tumor. It's inoperable. In six months, the doctors say...
Layla puts a hand on her mother's shoulder, stopping her. Mrs. Rourke looks back and up into Layla's eyes.
Dean: I'm sorry.
Layla: It's okay.
Mrs. Rourke, staring into her daughter's eyes.
Mrs. Rourke: No. It isn't.
Mrs. Rourke faces Dean, her face angry and hurt and confused.
Mrs. Rourke: Why do you deserve to live more than my daughter?
Mrs. Rourke walks away. Layla take a deep shaky breath and follows her down the stairs. Dean watches them go then turns to look back at Roy and Sue Ann's house.

IT'S A REAPER

INT. MOTEL ROOM - DAY
Dean enters, throwing his keys on the bed and taking off his jacket. Sam is at the laptop. Dean tosses his jacket on the duffel, and approaches Sam.
Dean: What'd you find out?
Sam: (speaking quietly) I'm sorry.
Dean: Sorry about what?
Sam: Marshall Hall died at 4:17.
Sam let out a sigh. Dean is stunned.
Dean: The exact time I was healed.
Sam: Yeah. So, I put together a list of everyone Roy's healed. Six people over the past year, and I cross-checked them with the local obits.
Sam hands over the list to Dean.
Sam: Every time someone was healed, someone else died.
Dean sits across from Sam.
Sam: And each time, the victim died of the same symptom LeGrange was healing at the time.

EXT. FOREST/PARK - DAY
Holly Morton is jogging along a path, headphones on. 'Don't fear the Reaper' by Blue Oyster Cult begins to play quietly and gets gradually louder.
Dean (voiceover): Someone's healed of cancer, someone else dies of cancer?
Sam (voiceover): Somehow. LeGrange... he's trading a life for another.
Holly stops jogging, takes out an earphone and looks into the forest.
Holly: Hello?

INT. MOTEL - DAY
Dean: Wait, wait, wait. So, Marshall Hall died to save me?
Sam: (looking upset) Dean. The guy probably would've died anyway. And someone else would've been healed.

INT. CHURCH TENT - DAY
Roy has his left hand in the air, and his right hand on the head of an old man in a wheelchair with an oxygen tube.

INT. MOTEL - DAY
Dean: You never should've brought me here.
Dean stands up to walk away, upset. Sam's upset as well.
Sam: Dean, I was just trying to save your life.
Dean turns back to yell at Sam.
Dean: But, Sam, some guy is dead now because of me.
Sam: I didn't know.

INT. CHURCH SERVICE - DAY
Roy: Pray with me, friends.
Roy clasps his hands together reverently. The crowd lifts their arms in the air.
Sam (voiceover): The thing I don't understand is how is Roy doing it? How's-how's he-how's he trading a life, for a life?

INT. MOTEL - DAY
Dean: Oh, he's not doing it.

EXT. FOREST/PARK - DAY
Holly is leaning over, gasping for breath.
Dean (voiceover): Something else is doing it for him.
Sam (voiceover): What do you mean?
Dean (voiceover): The old man I saw on stage.
Holly Morton turns. The old man is in front of her. She is startled.

INT. MOTEL - DAY
Dean: I didn't wanna believe it, but deep down I knew it.
Sam: You knew what? What are you talking about?
Dean: There's only one thing that can give and take life like that.
Sam looks at Dean, confused.
Dean: We're dealing with a reaper.

EXT. FOREST/PARK - DAY
The music crescendos, the lyrics begin. Holly flees down the path, looking back, terrified and gasping. The reaper follows her calmly.

INT. CHURCH SERVICE - DAY
Roy lifts his hands to heaven, preparing to lay them on the old man.
Music:Love of two is one

EXT. FOREST/PARK - DAY
Holly Morton, exhausted now, looks behind her again, seeing the reaper. When she turns forward she crashes into him and falls to her knees.
Music:Here but now they're gone
The reaper lays his hand on the side of her face. Her eyes glaze.

INT. CHURCH SERVICE - DAY
Roy lays his hand on the old man's head.
Music:The curtains flew then he appeared
Saying don't be afraid

EXT. FOREST/PARK - DAY
Holly gasps for breath, her face pale.
Music:Come on, baby
The reaper calmly continues to take her life.
Music:Don't fear the reaper.
She falls to the ground, dead.

INT. CHURCH SERVICE - DAY
The same reaper, invisible to the crowd, places his hand beside Roy's on the old man's head. The man rises from his wheelchair and falls to his knees. The color returns to his face and he slowly removes his oxygen tube. His face slowly creases into wonderment and a happy smile. Roy smiles slightly. The old man inhales deeply. The crowd gasps, then claps and cheers.
The screen goes black.

ACT THREE

MOTEL

INT. MOTEL ROOM - DAY
Sam and Dean are sitting at the table. Sam is working on the computer, Dean is going through papers.
Sam: You really think it's THE Grim Reaper? Like, angel of death, collect your soul, the whole deal?
Dean: No no no, not THE reaper, A reaper. There's reaper lore in pretty much every culture on earth. Go by 100 different names; it's possible that there's more than one of them.
Sam: But you said you saw a dude in a suit.
Dean: What, you think he shoulda been working the whole black robe thing?... You said it yourself that the clock stopped, right?
Dean pulls up a page to show Sam.
Dean: Reapers stop time. And you can only see 'em when they're coming at you, which is why I could see it and you couldn't.
He puts the page back down.
Sam: Maybe.
Dean: There's nothing else it could be Sam. The question is, how is Roy controlling the damn thing?
Sam: That cross.
Dean: What?
Sam: There was this cross. I noticed it in the church and I knew I had seen it before.
Sam looks through some cards and snorts. He holds a card up to Dean.
Sam: Here.
Dean leans into take the card.
Dean: A Tarot?
Sam: It makes sense. I mean, Tarot dates back to the early Christian era right? When some priests were still using magic? And a few of them veered into the dark stuff? Necromancy and how to push death away, how to... cause it?
Dean: So Roy's using black magic to bind the reaper?
Sam: If he is, he's-he's riding the whirlwind. It's like putting a dog leash on a great white.
Dean rises to put his cup in the sink, then he leans back against it to face Sam.
Dean: Okay then we stop Roy.
Sam: How?
Dean: You know how.
Sam: Wait, what the hell are you talking about Dean? We can't kill Roy.
Dean: Sam the guy's playing God, he's deciding who lives and who dies. That's a monster in my book.
Sam: No. We're not going to kill a human being, Dean. We do that, we're no better than he is.
Dean: Okay, so we can't kill Roy. We can't kill death. Any bright ideas college boy?
Sam: Okay. Uh... If Roy's using some kind of black spell on the reaper, we gotta... figure out what it is. And how to break it.
Sound of the Impala's engine.

EXT. GRAVELED ROAD - DAY
The Impala bounces down the badly gravelled and potholed road again, passing a sign that says "Service Today!"

EXT. PARKING OUTSIDE CHURCH TENT - DAY
They park and exit the Impala, heading towards the tent.
Sam: If Roy's using a spell, there might be a spell book.
Dean: See if you can find it.
Dean looks at his watch.
Dean: Hurry up too, the service starts in fifteen minutes. I'll try to stall Roy.
Dean gives Sam a small shove, to get him moving. However, Sam pauses when he hears Wright's words.
Wright: Roy LeGrange is a fraud. He's no healer.
Wright holds out a leaflet to Dean, who takes it and continues onto the tent. Wright then hands Sam a leaflet.
Dean: Amen, brother.
Sam: You keep up the good work.
Sam points at Wright, taking the leaflet, then heads over to the house.
Wright: Thank you.

EXT. ROY'S HOUSE - DAY
Roy comes down the stairs, assisted by Sue Ann on one arm, a dark haired man on the other. The camera pans to Sam, watching them leave from the corner of the porch.
Sam opens a window and climbs in. He starts searching the house, going into an old office first. He looks around on the desk, before heading over to the bookshelves. He notices that there is a thick layer of dust on the shelf, except one book that doesn't have dust on the shelf in front of it. "Encyclopedia of Christian History Old & New Testament". He flips through it, finding nothing, then realises there is another, smaller book, hidden on the bookshelf behind the larger one. Inside is a picture of a skeleton reaper, and on another page the wooden cross he saw earlier in the tent. He also finds newspaper articles about the people who died. Marshall Hall that died for Dean was an openly gay teacher, Holly Morton, the jogger, was an abortion rights advocate. He finds a third clipping about David Wright, the man handing out leaflets in front of the tent, calling the church a "cult".

INT. CHURCH TENT - DAY and EXT. LEGRANGE HOUSE - DAY, alternating
Dean is walking slowly up the side aisle. His phone rings. There are coughs in the background. He answers.
Dean: What do you got?
Sam: Roy's choosing victims he sees as immoral. And I think I know who's next on his list. Remember that protestor?
Dean: The guy in the parking lot??
Sam: Yeah. Yeah, I'll find him. But you can't let Roy heal anyone, alright?
Dean hangs up with a determined expression and moves further toward the front of the tent.

EXT. PARKING LOT - DAY
Sam starts searching the car park.

HEALING LAYLA

INT. CHURCH TENT - DAY
Roy: Layla. Layla Rourke. Come up here, child.
The crowd bursts into pleased applause. Layla, stunned then grateful, looks around then rises to hug Mrs. Rourke.
Layla: Mom.
Mrs. Rourke: Baby. I love you.
Dean is watching them hug.
Dean: (whispers) Oh man.
Music starts. Sue Ann and Roy are at the front, awaiting her.

EXT. PARKING LOT - DAY
Sam is still searching the parking lot, getting desperate, running through parked cars.

INT. CHURCH TENT - DAY
As Layla starts to passes him, Dean grasps her arm. He's talking in whispers.
Dean: Layla, listen to me. You can't go up there.
Layla: Why not? We've waited for months!
Dean: You can't let Roy heal you.
In the background, Mrs. Rourke stands there, wringing her hands.
Layla: I don't understand, Roy healed you, didn't he? Why wouldn't you at least let him try?
Dean: Cause if you do, something bad is going to happen. I can't explain. I just need you to believe me.
Dean and Layla stare at each other.
Sue Ann: Layla.
Sue Ann stands waiting, holding out her hand. Layla looks over at Sue Ann.
Dean: Please.
Layla stares at the hand Sue Ann is offering, then turns back and stares at her mother, who nods at her. Layla looks at Dean and shakes her head.
Layla: I'm sorry.
Layla walks away, towards the stage.
Dean: Layla. Layla!
Sue Ann is smiling and putting her arm around Layla to take her to the stage.
Sue Ann: Dear child!
The crowd continues to clap happily. Layla is at the stage.
Sue Ann: (softly) You deserve this.
Roy takes Layla's hand. Sue Ann glances back at Dean, then walks away.
Roy: I knew the Lord was planning this. I knew it was just a matter of time.
Dean, frustrated, moves back to stand near Mrs. Rourke. She is crying and covering her face with her hands.

EXT. PARKING LOT - DAY
Wright: HELP!
Sam turns, searching for where his voice came from. Wright is running around a car, the reaper following slowly. Sam continues to search.

INT. CHURCH TENT - DAY
Roy is smiling.
Roy: Pray with me friends.
Roy has clasped his hands together. Mom is crying, bringing her hands together.
Roy: I hope you're ready.
Layla is smiling softly.
Layla: I am.
She steps closer to him. Roy opens his hands, raising them towards heaven.

EXT. PARKING LOT - DAY
Wright is stumbling between a trunk and a car, frantically trying to escape.
Wright: HELP! Help me please!
Sam finds Wright and is looking around wildly.
Sam: Where is he?!
Sam doesn't see him. Wright grabs Sam's shoulder and points.
Wright: It's right there!
Sam: Alright, come on!
Sam grabs Wright and pulls him away.

INT. CHURCH TENT - DAY
Roy's raised hands hold steady. Everyone's hands raise towards heaven. Roy is about to lay his hand on Layla, who looks enraptured. Suddenly Dean's voice is heard in the background.
Dean: (off camera) FIRE! Hurry, tent's on fire!
Murmurs are heard. Layla opens her eyes and looks toward the crowd.
Dean: Fire! Everybody get out of here!
Everyone starts to rise and evacuate, murmuring.
Mrs. Rourke: NO! No, please. Please don't stop. Please!
People are moving out of the tent, as Mrs. Rourke moves toward the stage.
Mrs. Rourke: Reverend, please, please! Please don't stop, please!
Dean watches helplessly.
Roy: Friends, uh,
Dean pulls out his phone.
Roy: if you'd all just leave the tent in an orderly fashion, and, uh, we'll- we'll figure out what's going on out there and we'll-we'll come back.
Dean: I did it, I stopped Roy.

EXT. PARKING LOT - DAY
Sam is holding phone to his ear. He and Wright look around.
Sam: David, I think it's ok.
David looks around at Sam, nodding, then turns back. The reaper is in front of him.
Wright: No!
Sam: (into phone) Dean it didn't work. The reaper's still coming!
The reaper has it's hand on Wright's head, gently lowering him down to the ground. His eyes are glazing over, with a frightened look on his face.
The screen goes black.

ACT FOUR

STOPPING THE REAPER

EXT. PARKING LOT - DAY
Sam is still on the phone. Wright is on the ground, curling up, dying.
Sam: I'm telling you! I'm telling you! It must not have worked! Roy must not be the one controlling this thing!

INT. CHURCH TENT - DAY
Dean is still on the phone.
Dean: Then who the hell is?
Dean looks around and spies Sue Ann beside the stage, facing into the corner and reciting.
Dean: Sue Ann.
Dean snaps his cell shut and runs to her.

EXT. PARKING LOT - DAY
The reaper is continuing to kill Wright, whose eyes have glazed over, gasping his last breathes.

INT. CHURCH TENT - DAY
Dean reaches Sue Ann and spins her around. She gasps and stops reciting, reaching down to hold a cross on a chain around her neck. It is the same as the wooden cross Sam saw earlier.

EXT. PARKING LOT - DAY
The reaper is holding his hand to Wright's face. Suddenly he stops, looking confused, and rises.

INT. CHURCH TENT - DAY
Sue Ann is staring at Dean and tucking the cross inside her blouse.
Sue Ann: Help! Help me!
Dean backs away, nodding and staring at Sue Ann like he shouldn't have expected anything better.
Sue Ann: Help!
A tall deputy grabs him roughly and pulls him away.

EXT. PARKING LOT - DAY
The reaper stares at Wright lying on the ground gasping for breath, then turns away and vanishes. Sam sees that the reaper has been stopped, and moves to help him up.
Sam: I got you. I got you.
Sam grabs Wright's left arm, and helps him stand up. Wright looks all around.
Wright: Thank God.

EXT. CHURCH TENT ENTRANCE - DAY
Two deupties manhandle Dean through the entry. He tries to shrug them off as soon as they are outside. Sue Ann follows close behind, with a very condescending attitude. She walks around to the front of Dean.
Sue Ann: I just don't understand. After everything we've done for you. After Roy healed you.
Dean gives her a look that says, 'I know what's going on.'
Sue Ann: We're just very, very disappointed Dean.
Dean stares at her, saying nothing.
Sue Ann: You can let him go, I'm not gonna press charges. The Lord will deal with him... as He sees fit.
After that veiled threat, Sue Ann leaves. The deputies turn to Dean.
Burley Deputy: We catch you round here again son, we'll put the fear of God in you, understand?
Dean: Yes sir, fear of God. Got it.
Dean gives him a snarky smile. The deputies give him one last push. He turns to find Layla waiting for him.
Dean: Layla?
Layla: Why would you do that Dean? And it could have been my only chance.
Dean: He's not a healer.
Layla: He healed you.
Dean: I know it doesn't seem fair, and I wish I could explain. But Roy is not the answer, I'm sorry.
Layla shakes her head sadly.
Layla: Goodbye Dean.
She walks away. Dean turns to watch her. She turns back.
Layla: I wish you luck. I really do.
Dean: (Voice cracking) Same to you.
Layla turns to walk away again.
Dean: (under his breath) You deserve it a lot more than me.
Layla walks away past where her mother is talking to Roy and Sue Ann. Dean starts walking towards the parking lot.
Roy: Private session tonight, no interruptions. I give you my word, I'll heal your daughter.
Dean walks past behind them to where Sam is waiting. They both overhear.
Mrs. Rourke: Thank you reverend. God bless you.
The boys continue to walk towards the Impala. Mrs. Rourke walks towards her car, looking up at Layla.

INT. MOTEL ROOM - DAY
Sam is sitting on the bed.
Sam: So Roy really believes.
Dean: I don't think he has any idea what his wife's doing.
Sam: Well, I found this.
He holds up the book to show Dean, as Dean sits on the other bed.
Sam: Hidden in their library. It's ancient. Written by a priest who went dark side. There's a binding spell in here for trapping a reaper.
He hands the little book to Dean.
Dean: Must be a hell of a spell.
Sam: Yeah. You gotta build a black altar with seriously dark stuff.
Dean is flipping through the book.
Sam: Bones, human blood. To cross a line like that, a preacher's wife. Black magic. Murder. Evil.
Dean: Desperate. Her husband was dying, she didn't have anything to save him. She was using the binding spell to keep the reaper away from Roy.
Sam: Cheating death,
Sam chuckles.
Sam: literally.
Dean: Yeah, but Roy's alive, so why is she still using the spell?
Sam: Right. To force the reaper to kill people she thinks are immoral.
Dean huffs.
Dean: May God save us from half the people who think they're doing God's work.
Sam: We gotta break that binding spell Dean.
Dean looks at the picture of the cross in the book.
Dean: You know Sue Ann had a coptic cross like this. When she dropped it the reaper backed off.
Sam: So you think we gotta find the cross or destroy the altar?
Dean: Maybe both. Whatever we do, we better do it soon. Roy's healing Layla tonight.
Dean stands up from the bed and walks across the room.

HEALING LAYLA

EXT. CHURCH TENT PARKING LOT - NIGHT
Impala drives in and stops.
Sam: That's Layla's car. She's already here.
Dean nods sadly.
Dean: Yeah.
Sam: Dean...
Dean: You know if Roy woulda picked Layla instead of me she'd be healed right now.
Sam: Dean. Don't.
Dean: And if she's not healed tonight... she's gonna die in a coupla months.
Sam: What's happening to her is horrible. But what are you gonna do? Let somebody else die to save her? You said it yourself Dean, you can't play God.
Dean sits without speaking, then gets out of the car. Sam follows. They approach the tent and peek inside. Roy is speaking to a small group of the faithful, including Layla and her mother.
Roy: Gather round, please everyone, gather round. Come in closer, come on up.
Dean: Where's Sue Ann?
Sam: House.
The boys move to the house.
Dean: Go find Sue Ann, I'll catch up.
Dean pushs Sam away, as he spies the two deputies from earlier coming down the stairs.
Sam: What are you...?
Dean: Hey!
The deputies look over.
Dean: You gonna put that fear of God in me?
The deputies drop their coffee and run at Dean, who takes off. As soon as they're gone Sam runs up the stairs and checks around the house. It is in darkness.

EXT. PARKING LOT - NIGHT
Dean runs up beside a camper van. He bends over, silently running along. The deputies are on the other side with flashlights.

EXT. LEGRANGE HOUSE - NIGHT
Sam turns back, confused, then spots light emerging from the cracks of the outside basement entrance.

EXT. PARKING LOT - NIGHT
The deputies are shining lights all around.
Burley Deputy: You see him?
Tall Deputy: Nah.

EXT. LEGRANGE HOUSE - NIGHT
Sam moves toward the basement entrance, opens the doors and slips inside, letting the doors fall closed behind him.

EXT. PARKING LOT - NIGHT
Dean slowly rises next to the passenger window of the camper van, looking behind him. A large dog jumps at the window, barking wildly and he leaps back.
Dean: Whoa.
On the other side of the van the burly deputy shines his light underneath, then in at the dog who is still barking.
Burley Deputy: Psycho mutt.
They move on, as the tall deputy laughs. The camera pans to the roof as Dean sticks his head over. He looks around tensely, then sags against the roof.

INT. LEGRANGE BASEMENT - NIGHT
Sam moves quietly through the basement looking around, until he sees the altar and moves towards it. It's a candlelit altar littered with parts of dead animals, blood, horns, etc. There is a photo in the middle of Dean, taken from the security camera the first time they were in the tent, before he was healed. His face has been crossed out with what looks like blood. Sam picks up the photo.
Sue Ann: (from behind Sam, startling him) I gave your brother life and I can take it away.
Sue Ann stands there, eerily calm. Sam is furious. He grunts as he tips over the table the altar is on, then runs at Sue Ann but she is already up the stairs. She closes the hatches and secures it with a beam. Sam stretches to push against the doors, but can't break free. He keeps trying.
Sue Ann: Sam, can't you see? The Lord chose me to reward the just and punish the wicked. And your brother is wicked, and he deserves to die just as Layla deserves to live.
Sam, furious, turns to survey the room.
Sue Ann: It's God's will. Goodbye, Sam.
Sam pulls a 2X4 from out of the wall and smashes out a small boarded up window.

INT. CHURCH TENT - NIGHT
Roy: Mrs Rourke, pray with me now.
Roy takes her hand.
Roy: Pray with me friends.
He clasps his hands together.

EXT. PARKING LOT - NIGHT
Dean is heading toward the tent when some lights go out. He stops, looking behind him, and watches the line of lights lighting the path go out one by one.

INT. CHURCH TENT - NIGHT
Soft music plays in the church. Roy raises his hands.

EXT. PARKING LOT - NIGHT
Dean turns back to see the reaper walking toward him. He knows the reaper is coming for him, as he turns to face it head-on. The screen goes black.

ACT FIVE

AFTERMATH

INT. CHURCH TENT - NIGHT
Roy reaches over for Layla, putting his hand first on her shoulder.
Roy: All right, now. All right, now.

EXT. CHURCH TENT - NIGHT
Just outside the door Sue Ann is reciting Latin and holding the cross in her hands.

EXT. PARKING LOT -NIGHT
The reaper places his hand on the side of Dean's head. Dean convulses once, moaning.

INT. CHURCH TENT - NIGHT
Roy places his hand on Layla's head. He sighs.

EXT. CHURCH TENT - NIGHT
Sue Ann is continuing reciting Latin and holding the cross in her hands, with her eyes closed.

INT. CHURCH TENT - NIGHT and EXT. PARKING LOT - NIGHT, alternating
Inside the church, Layla is sinking to her knees.
Dean is sinking to his knees, groaning loudly.
Layla finished sinking to her knees. Roy's right hand on Layla, left hand raised.

Roy: All right.
Dean is gasping; he's getting paler, and his eyes glaze over. He is groaning in pain, gasping more, crying out in pain.

EXT. CHURCH TENT - NIGHT
Sue Ann is reciting, holding up the cross. Sam appears, grabs it and throws it aside, breaking a glass bottle of blood. Sue Ann cries out.

EXT. PARKING LOT - NIGHT and INT. CHURCH TENT - NIGHT, alternating
The reaper stops what he is doing and looks up. Dean falls backwards, gasping. His eyes are no longer glazed, and his color returned.
Roy raises his hand from Layla's head, confused.
The reaper looks around.

Roy: I don't understand...
Layla: I don't... feel different.
Layla looks directly at mom, who is fighting tears and upset.

EXT. CHURCH TENT - NIGHT
Sue Ann falls to her knees beside the blood.
Sue Ann: My God, what have you done!
Sam: He's not your God.

INT. CHURCH TENT - NIGHT
Layla looks up at Roy, confused.
Layla: Reverend?
Roy: Sue Ann?
Layla stands up.

EXT. CHURCH TENT - NIGHT
Outside, Sue Ann looks up and sees the reaper.
Sue Ann: Oh. Oh!
He smiles at her. Terrified, she rises and turns to run. The reaper is there. He places his hand on her head, she gasps, her eyes glaze over, she grows paler, and she falls to her knees. After a moment, still smiling, he allows her to slip to the ground where she convulses once, twice, and dies. The reaper watches, looking satisfied.
Leaving her lying there, Sam turns and goes to look for Dean.

EXT. PARKING LOT - NIGHT
Dean makes it back to the Impala just as Sam approaches.
Sam: You okay?
Dean: Hell of a week.
Sam: Yeah... All right, come on. We should get going.
They climb into the Impala.

INT. MOTEL ROOM - DAY
Dean sits on the bed, staring at nothing. Sam watches him, as he's packing.
Sam: What is it?
Dean: Nothing.
Sam waits a few seconds.
Sam: (More gently) What is it?
Dean: We did the right thing here didn't we?
Sam: Of course we did.
Dean hangs his head.
Dean: It doesn't feel like it.
A knock at the door stops them.
Sam: I got it.
He opens the door as Dean turns to look. It is Layla.
Sam: Hey Layla. Come on in.
Layla: Hey.
She enters. Dean quickly rises.
Dean: Hey.
Layla walks over slowly.
Dean: How did you know we were here?
Layla: Sam... called. He said... you wanted to say goodbye?
Dean glances at Sam, who is at the door, looking sheepish.
Sam: I'm gonna... grab a soda.
Sam leaves, closing the door behind him. Layla walks around Dean.
Layla: So, uh. Where are you going?
Dean: Oh. Don't know yet. Our work kinda takes us all over. So.
Layla watches Dean in silence for a moment.
Layla: You know, I went back to see Roy.
Dean nods.
Dean: What happened?
Layla sits on one of the beds.
Layla: Nothing. He laid his hands on my forehead but nothing happened.
Dean sits beside her. They look at each other.
Dean: I'm sorry. I'm sorry it didn't work.
Layla: And Sue Ann. She's dead, you know. Stroke.
Dean looks off into the distance, thinking.
Dean: Yeah I heard. Know Roy's a good man. He doesn't deserve what's happened.
Dean looks at Layla.
Dean: Must be rough. To believe in something so much, to have it disappoint you like that.
Layla smiles softly.
Layla: You wanna hear something weird?
Dean turns to look at her.
Dean: Hmm?
Layla: I'm okay. Really. I guess... if you're gonna have faith, you can't just have it when the miracles happen. You have to have it when they don't.
Dean gives a soft huff. She looks down shyly.
Dean: So what now?
Layla shrugs, and smiles softly.
Layla: God works in mysterious ways.
Layla lays her hand softly on the side of Dean's face, staring at him.
Layla: Goodbye Dean.
She rises and moves toward the door. Dean closes his eyes for a second, remaining still with a pained look. He then rises and turns to face Layla.
Dean: Hey.
Layla turns back to face him.
Dean: Um,
He clears his throat.
Dean: I'm not much of the praying type... but... I'm gonna pray for you.
Layla's eyes are shining with unshed tears. She gives him a soft smile.
Layla: Well... There's a miracle right there.
Layla turns and leaves the room. Dean stands staring at the door, tears in his eyes.
The screen goes black.

DELETED SCENES

ONE

910 Faith - SC 7-8 - 2:55 RT

INT. SWIMMING POOL COMPLEX - DAY
The camera pans from the roof down, to show Marshall Hall swimming breaststroke underwater. As he swims past a certain area, the reflection of the reaper is seen on the water. He surfaces, and takes off his goggles, wiping his face. Turning around, there is no one there in the pool area.

INT. TENT - DAY
The crowd is clapping and excited. Layla reaches for her mother, to hold her.
Sam: Get on up there!
Dean reluctantly rises and heads for the stage. Sam is happy Dean was chosen, smiling and clapping along with the rest of the people. Dean moves slowly, grabbing the tent pole on the way by, and giving a quick, pained smile.
Dean: Yeah. Um.
Dean clears his throat. Sue Ann helps Dean on the stage, to stand by Roy. She pats his back, before turning to walk away. Roy and Dean talk low to each other, to not be overheard.
Roy: You ready?
Dean: Look, no disrespect, but I'm not exactly a believer.
Roy: (smiling) You will be, son. You will be.
Dean looks him up and down, not sure about this.
Roy (To the crowd) Pray with me, friends.
The crowd lifts their arms up and joins hands with each other.

SWIMMING POOL COMPLEX - DAY
Marshall Hall is putting on a grey sweatshirt in the men's locker room. After he pulls it over his head, he catches a glimpse of the reaper in the mirror, as he's walking from one side to the other. He spins around to see, but there is no one there. He faces the mirror once more. Reaching for his watch to put it on, he sees that it has stopped. He taps it three times. While still wondering about his watch, the light goes out. Then the next light goes out. He turns around to see what might be going on, peering into the darkness. What he sees frightens him, as he mouths, "Oh my god". He starts moving down a hallway, and the light goes out where he was. He becomes even more frightened, starting to run backwards, crashing into walls as he does so. Each time the light goes out where he just was, as if he is barely just ahead of what it is he's running from. He makes it out to the pool area, running into Jason.
Marshall: No. No!
Jason: Whoa! Whoa! Mr. Hall!
Marshall: Help me! You gotta help me!
Jason: Sir?
He points shakily back from where he had just run from, still backing up in terror.
Marshall: Can't you see it? Ca-
He's gasping for air, looks up, as if there was someone standing just over him.
Marshall: No! No! No! No! No!
He's falling backward, gasping for air.

INT. TENT - DAY
Roy lifts his hands to the air, then places one first on Dean's shoulder to locate him, then on the side of his head. A shot of hopeful Sam in the audience.
Roy: (to himself) Alright now. Alright now.
Dean swallows, and his eyes half close. His legs weaken and he sinks to his knees, Roy's hand still on his head.
Roy: Alright, now.

INT. SWIMMING POOL - DAY
Marshall Hall sees something, and is terrified of it. He is almost laying back, grabbing his heart, as he's choking and dying. Jason comes racing over, trying to calm him down.
Jason: Mr. Hall! Please, just-just relax!
Marshall Hall stops fighting, relaxed in death.

INT. TENT - DAY
Dean wobbles, his eyes fall back in his head and he slips to the stage floor. Sam jumps from his chair and runs to the stage.
Sam: Dean!
The crowd is clapping excitedly. Sam grabs the front of Dean's Hoodie.
Sam: Hey, hey - are you okay?!

INT. SWIMMING POOL - DAY
Jason is doing chest compressions on Marshall Hall. The camera pans upwards to show the clock on the wall stopped at 4:17pm.

INT. TENT - DAY
Sam: Dean! Hey!
Sam half pulls his brother up, shaking him. Dean's eyes burst open and he gasps.
Sam: Hey, say something!
Dean blinks groggily and looks up.
Sam: (echos) Say something!
Dean weakly tries to sit up.
