Chapter 16 concludes the regulations governing public worship during the reign of David. Ezra and Nehemiah give David the credit for all areas of Temple worship.
Continuing on with the last chapter, the Ark is brought into Jerusalem and put into the Tabernacle that David had prepared for it. Then he made sacrifices unto the Lord, blessed the people and distributed to everyone, bread, meat and wine. Then he assigned the Tabernacle duties. Priests were assigned their duties and singers and musicians were assigned theirs. He then delivered to them the Psalms that they were to sing. Parts of the 105th, the 96th, the 136th and the 106th Psalms were used.
So David left Asaph and his brethren to minister before the Ark continually with instructions for each day, as they were required by Law. Priests and Porters were assigned and sacrifices and offerings were commanded to be made continually, morning and evening.
Then all the people returned to their own homes and David went to his.
