The material here is repeated from II Samuel 21.

Chapter 20 records another war of David's against the Ammonites and the giants of the Philistines, descendants of Goliath.

The previous chapters record the defeat of the Ammonites. Here we have the destruction of their Capitol City, Rabbah. (Second Samuel 11 and 12) Joab, David's Commander of the Army of Israel, destroyed the city and David took the kings crown and put it upon his own head. It weighted a talent of gold and was in crested with precious stones. He took the people of the city and cut them to pieces then David and all of his people returned to Jerusalem.

Recorded also was a war with the Philistines. The battle was at the city of Gezer and involved the family of giants, the relatives of Goliath. Another battle with the Philistines took place at the city of Gath where on of the Philistines, the son of a giant, had six fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot. He was slain by Jonathan, the son of David's brother.
