Instructions for Building the Temple

Chapter 22 deals with God's instructions to David as to the building of the Temple and David's instructions to Solomon and the leaders of Israel.

David decided that the trashing floor of Ornan was the place that he would build a Temple to the Lord. He conscripted all the aliens in Israel to prepare stones for its construction. Large quantities of metal for nails, gates and clamps was assembled and the men of Tyre and Sidon brought great rafts of cedar logs to David. This David did before his death and then he commanded his son Solomon to build a Temple unto the Lord.

David wanted to build the Temple himself but the Lord would not allow him. He had killed to many men. But David had collected most of the material. He had collected $3,000,000,000 worth of gold bullion, $2,000,000 worth of Silver and much iron and bronze. He had enlisted the help of skilled craftsmen, stonemasons, gold and silver smiths, so to Solomon he said, "Go and get to work."
