Chapter 5 records the completion of the Temple and God's possession of it. The Ark of the Covenant was brought in and God's presence and blessing was symbolized by a cloud. In preparation for this celebration, all the Leaders of Israel were called to Jerusalem often called "The City of David", or "Zion". Notice how the Ark of the Covenant was transported this time. Levite Priests carried it upon their shoulders as they were supposed to do and they placed it in the Holy of Holies under the wings of the Cherubs.

With the completion of the Temple, Solomon brought into the Temple the gifts that had been dedicated unto the Lord by his father David. They were stored in the Temple treasuries. Then Solomon summoned all the leaders of Israel for the ceremony of transferring the Ark from the Tabernacle where David had put it to the Temple. As the people watched, the Levites transported the Ark to its resting place in the Holy of Holies in the Temple. Then the Priests after they had gone through the purification rites, went through with their normal duties.

The choir accompanied by 120 Priests playing on instruments united as one in the phrase of God. At that moment, the Glory of the Lord filled the Temple so that the Priests could not finish their work.
