Chapter 32 concludes the reign of Hezekiah. Senna-cherib, was the King of Syria. He was called "the terror" and "the scourge" of the Middle East. He intended to establish a kingdom that would extend from Greece, on the north, to Egypt, on the south, and from the Mediterranean Sea, on the west, to as far east as he could go. He descended upon Judah. Hezekiah fortified himself with the "Word of God". He fortified the city of Jerusalem and the people. He encouraged them with the Word of God. Then Hezekiah and Isaiah the Prophet cried out in prayer unto the Lord and the Lord sent an Angel who destroyed the Syrian Army and all of its officers. That is how the Lord saved Hezekiah and the people of Jerusalem.

From that time on, Hezekiah became greatly respected by the surrounding nations and many gifts fro the Lord arrived in Jerusalem. About that time, Hezekiah became gravely ill and the Lord cured him but Hezekiah did not respond in thanksgiving, for he had become proud. This brought the anger of the Lord upon Judah and Hezekiah and all Jerusalem humbled themselves so that the wrath of God did not fall upon them during the reign of Hezekiah.

However, when ambassadors arrived from Babylon to inquire into his miraculous healing, God left him alone to test him and see what he would say to them.

Hezekiah became very wealthy and highly honored. When Hezekiah died, he was buried in the Royal Cemetery and all Judah honored him at his death. His son, Manasseh, became the new King of Judah.
