Chapter 33 records the reign of Manasseh. He was 12 years old when he became king. He ruled for 52 years. In spite of having a godly father, he was the most wicked king that ever ruled Judah.

The defeat of the Assyrians by his father, Hezekiah, led to many years of peace and prosperity. He fostered and encouraged the worship of idols, the practice of wizardry and the worship of the sun and stars. For this, God had him deported to Babylon where he repented and was allowed to return to Judah. This time he insisted on a series of reforms, doing away with idolatry. He died a natural death and at his death, his son, Anom, became King of Judah.

Anom was 22 years old when he became King of Judah and reigned for 2 evil years. He was murdered by a Palace servant. At his death, his son, Josiah, became king.
