Mercy is promised in the "Latter Days"

In Chapter 9 Judgment is prophesied and ruin would be brought upon Israel by a mighty nation, yet, it would not be complete ruin, for a remnant, out of the House of David, would escape, but the wicked ones would perish. Mercy is promised in the "latter days", prophesying the coming of the Messiah, that the Messiah would establish a Kingdom, that it would be enlarged to include the Gentiles, that this Kingdom take deep root and never be "rooted out". The Church may become corrupt and persecuted but God will never forsake it.
