God's Care

Click here to read Deuteronomy 8.

Chapter 8 repeats much of what is in the previous chapters. Some interesting comments should be noted on God's care for the Israelites that are here made by Moses:

  1. Why manna? God fed them manna to help them realize that food wasn't everything.
  2. Note that their cloths had not grown torn or rotten but were handed down good as new.
  3. Note the nature of the land of Canaan. A land flowing with brooks and springs, plenty of wheat, barley, and fruit. Nothing was lacking. There was also plenty of iron and copper.

Moses ends with these words of advice, BEWARE OF PROSPERITY.
