Rights and Revenues

Chapter 18 concerns Rights and Revenues of the Sanctuary. The Priests and Levites will be supported by the people's offerings. All Levites, no matter where they live, shall share in the offerings and have the right to minister at the Sanctuary in the Lords name. Because of False practices:

1. Do not offer up your child to a heathen god.
2. Do not practice "black magic, fortune telling or snake charming".
3. Do not call up evil spirits for help or attempt to call on the spirits of the dead.

Anyone who does these things is subject to the judgment of the Lord. Then Moses promised them that God would send them a prophet. You will know that he is of God if those things that he declares come true. There will be false prophets who will claim to have been sent of God so you must be careful and test them by "the word".
