Be Content with God's Blessings
In this chapter, the author concludes that we should content ourselves with
and make use of what God has given us. He gives three suggestions how we might
do this.
- By being able and open to change relative to human affairs.
- By accepting the unchanging characteristic of God and His Word and
our lack of understanding and availability to it.
- By acknowledging the vanity of worldly honor and power, which are
used for oppression and persecution if men are not governed by the
fear of God.
He reminds the oppressors and the vain the following:
- They will be called to account for it in the next world.
- That their condition in this world is no better than that of a beast.
Therefore he concludes that it is wise to make use of what power we have for
our own comfort and not to oppress others.
