Be Obedient to God

Click here to read Ecclesiastes 5.

In this chapter, the author suggests that the worship of God is the remedy for all the vanities that we have observed thus far. That we will not be deceived by these things if we are obedient to God and keep His commandments. If our religion is not to be vain, we must take heed of the following:

  1. The hearing of the Word.
  2. Prayer.
  3. In the making of vows.
  4. In the pretending to have divine dreams. To aid us in doing this, he prescribes that we fear God and seek his directions.

The fruits of life are necessary, but silver and gold are not satisfying, they are unprofitable, they are un-nerving, they often prove harming, they will perish, they must be left behind when we die and if we do not use them properly, they will cause us a lot on uneasiness.
