Chapter 7 records Esther's banquet. At the banquet the King again asks Esther what he could do for her. Esther petitions the king to spare her life and the lives of her people. She tells him that it was Haman who had tricked him into signing the order to kill all the Jews. Upon hearing this, the King ordered that Haman be hung on the gallows that had been prepared for Mordecai.
