This chapter records the 5th. 6th. and 7th. plague. Then the Lord said to Moses, "Go to Pharaoh and tell him that the God of the Hebrews said to let the people go." Now if he would not do it, the Lord promised to bring a plague upon all the animals of the land but those belonging to the Hebrews. "Tomorrow, I will do this thing," the Lord said.
Pharaoh would not let the people go so the next day death rained upon the herds of Egypt. Pharaoh sent people to check on the herds of the Hebrews and behold they had not lost a single animal. But again Pharaoh's heart was hardened and he would not let the people go.
Then the Lord sent the sixth plague. The Lord told Moses to take two handfuls of ashes and throw them toward heaven in the sight of Pharaoh and Moses did as God told him, and boils broke out upon all the people of Egypt, but still, Pharaoh would not let the people of Israel go. His heart was hardened.
Then the Lord sent the seventh plague. The Lord said to Moses, rise up early in the morning and tell Pharaoh if he does not let the people go, I will send a plague upon all the people of Egypt, upon his servants and upon his land. Pharaoh would not let the people go so Moses stretched out his hand and hail struck down every thing that was not under a shelter. Every plant, every tree, every man and every beast. Only in Goshen, where the people of Israel dwelled was there no hail. Pharaoh confessed he had sinned and would let the people of Israel go, if Moses would stop the hail. Moses was not fooled, but he stopped the hail and as he had expected, Pharaoh hardened his heart and would not keep his promise to let the people go.
