The Ten Commandments
Chapter 20 records what happened on the third day that Moses was up on the
mountain. On the third day, the mountain was covered with a cloud and there
was thunder and lightning, and the Lord gave to Moses the 10 commandments.
- You shall have no other gods before me.
- You shall not make for yourself a graven image or any likeness of
anything that is in heaven above or that is on the earth below.
- You shall not take the name of your God in vain.
- Remember the Sabbath Day and keep it holy.
- Honor your father and mother.
- You shall not kill.
- You shall not commit adultery.
- You shall not steal.
- You shall not bear false witness.
- You shall not covet your neighbors possessions.
These commandments God gave Moses, written on tablets of stone. (Ch.21:12)
