The Ten Commandments

Chapter 20 records what happened on the third day that Moses was up on the mountain. On the third day, the mountain was covered with a cloud and there was thunder and lightning, and the Lord gave to Moses the 10 commandments.

1. You shall have no other gods before me.
2. You shall not make for yourself a graven image or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above or that is on the earth below.
3. You shall not take the name of your God in vain.
4. Remember the Sabbath Day and keep it holy.
5. Honor your father and mother.
6. You shall not kill.
7. You shall not commit adultery.
8. You shall not steal.
9. You shall not bear false witness.
10. You shall not covet your neighbors possessions.

These commandments God gave Moses, written on tablets of stone. (Ch.21:12)
