Then instructions were given for building a courtyard around the Tabernacle. It was to be approximately 146 feet by 73 feet. The north and south sides were to be made of 20 pillars about 7 and one half feet tall set in bronze bases and covered with fine twined linen. The west side was to be made up of 10 pillars about 7 and one half feet high also set in bronze bases and covered with fine twined linen. The east side shall be the entrance to the court yard and shall be covered by a screen 30 feet long and 7 and one half feet high and covered with blue, purple and scarlet linen.

A lamp was to be set up in the Tabernacle and the people were to furnish the olive oil for its fuel.
