Chapters 36, 37, 38 and 39, record the design and construction of the 27 articles which the Lord had commanded them to make.
Chapter 36 records the collection of all the material. So much was donated that Moses had to send a message throughout the camp that no more material was needed. Skilled weavers made the three layers of material that covered the top and sides of the Tabernacle. The first layer was linen, the second was goat's hair and the final layer was leather. The sides of the Tabernacle were constructed of frames made of acacia wood, 15 foot high by 2 and one half feet wide. They set into silver bases. Each frame was connected to the other and to its base. There were a total of 56 frames and 112 bases. The Tabernacle was approx. 50 foot by 25 foot.
