Chapter 38 records the building of the Altar, a Bronze Laver, all the posts, bases, rods, dowels and fine twined linen for the fence around the Outer Court. All these things were constructed under the direction of Ith'amar, Aaron's son. It was all done as the Lord had commanded Bez'alel and Oho'liab.
Twenty-nine talents and 730 shekels of gold was used, approx. 3,140 pounds. One hundred talents and 1775 shekels of silver was used, approx. 9,575 pounds. This came to approx. 50 cents per head for the 603,550 men 20 years and older, registered in the census.
