Here Ezekiel falls upon his face in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ and Jesus says to Ezekiel the same thing that he said to the Apostle Paul in the Acts 26:156, "Rise up and stand upon your feet for I have prepared for you a purpose, to make you a minister." Ezekiel was then commissioned to go as a Prophet to the House of Israel in Babylon. The Lord warns Ezekiel that they were a rebellious people and they might not receive his words but he is not to be rebellious as they but he is to go and not to be afraid. Then he received his instructions in the form of a scroll on which was written lamentations, mournings and woes. He was told to open his mouth and eat.
