In this chapter we have the justification for the judgments of God upon the Jewish nation. The destruction of the nation of Judah, the city of Jerusalem and the people that lived there is represented by a sign, the cutting, burning and scattering of hair. This was symbolic of the desolation that came upon the people. Sin was the charge against Jerusalem as the cause of the desolation. Contempt of God's law and the profaning of God's house are specified. The wrath of God is prophesied in a variety of ways which lead to their ruin.
