Temple Worship Described

Click here to read Ezekiel 43.

Having described the construction of the Temple in the preceding chapters, the Prophet, that it might not appear to have been erected in vain, in this chapter and the next, describes the worship that should be performed in it. In this chapter we have:

  1. Possession of the Temple taken by the Glory of God.
  2. A promise of God's continual presence with His people, if they would continue in the instituted way of worship and abandon their idols and the worship of them.
  3. A description of the Alter for Burnt Offerings.
  4. Directions for the consecration of that alter.

Here Ezekiel seems to stand between God and the people as Moses did when the first sanctuary, the Tabernacle, was set up.
