Habakkuk Embraces God
Chapter 3 finds Habakkuk embracing God in prayer, having found the answer to
his quandary in two places:
- In looking back at God's triumphs over the heathen in times past.
- In trusting God. Even though he is frightened at what he knows will
surly come to pass in the judgment of Judah, he rejoices in the God
he knows.
Habakkuk much like Thomas overcame his "doubt" by personal contact with the
Lord. There are several passages from this book that have universal use:
- Chapter 2 verse 20, "The Lord is in His Holy Temple, let all the
earth be silent before Him."
- Chapter 2 verse 4a, "The just shall live by faith."
