Chapter 2 begins the prophesy and description of the New Testament Church, the Church of the "Latter Days", the including of the Gentiles, the rejection of the Gospel by the Jews and God's judgment because of this.
"And it shall come to pass, in the latter days, that the Lord's House shall be established." (The New Testament Church) "and He shall teach us His ways," (Bible) "and we (all nations) shall walk in His paths." (regeneration and sanctification of the Gentile).
The condition of the Jews, "soothsayers like the Philistines, to prosperous for their own good, worshipping idols." Hear this you people of Judah, "the day shall come when the loftiness of men and their haughtiness shall be made low and the Lord shall be exalted that day." All idols shall be utterly destroyed. Their possessions will, in the end, be their shame.
