A word to the Righteous

Click here to read Isaiah 9.

A third reference to Christ is found in Chapter 9 verse 1 concerning His labors around Nazareth. "He shall make glorious the land between the Sea and the Jordan", i.e. Galilee of the Gentiles. Matthew 3:12-15, refers to Jesus going into Galilee that it might be fulfilled what was written by the Prophet Isaiah.

Through the Prophet Isaiah, the Lord promises that it will go well with those who adhere to the Law. They shall see a "great light"; they shall find relief in the midst of their distress. All this is typical of the doctrine of the Messiah, His victory, His Government and his dominion over His people.

Great destruction is again prophesied for Israel for their revolt against the House of David (Judah) they will be brought to utter ruin. Their neighbors shall prey upon them. Because of their disobedience and hypocrisy all promises relative to God's chosen people shall be removed from them.
