This shows the great things that God will do for His people. Deliverance of Jerusalem is promised and the destruction of the Assyrian Army. It is also applicable to the Church of Jesus Christ especially in their deliverance from Satan in the "end times". Note the oppressors will be taken care of and the church will be cared for like a well-maintained vineyard.
Promised is prosperity to those who return to Him along with their sanctification and even though the church may be scattered for a time like Israel, it shall be restored and the scattered members shall be gathered together again. All this can be applied to the Gospel Church and those who belong to it.
