In this chapter we see how Hezekiah handled an illness that came upon him. We are not told what the sickness was but it was life threatening. Hezekiah had resigned himself to his death when he went to the Lord in prayer. Here we see God's answer to that prayer. He assures Hezekiah that he would get well and live another 15 years. To give Hezekiah a sign of this promise, the Lord turned the clock back, the sun reversed itself 10 degrees (II Kings 20).
We have here Hezekiah's thanksgiving for his recovery and a lesson for us to trust God in time of sickness.
