Following Hezekiah's healing and thanksgiving for it, we have here the story of his folly. It is here repeated from II Kings 20. The King of Babylon hearing of Hezekiah's healing sent Ambassadors to Judah to congratulate Hezekiah. In the foolishness of his pride, Hezekiah showed the Ambassadors the treasures of his Kingdom. When Isaiah hears of this he condemns Hezekiah and prophesied that in time, all of these treasures would be carried off into Babylon. Hezekiah became penitent but submitted himself to the sentence.
