This chapter continues with 4th. "Servants Song" which deals with the deliverance of the Jews out of Babylon and is applicable to our deliverance by faith in Jesus Christ. This chapter declares the promise to the Jews of their deliverance in "due" time. Some would have you to believe that it speaks only of Cyrus whom God used to deliver the Jews, but Philip in Acts 8:34, puts this mistake to rest when he replies to the Eunuch's question, "About whom does the Prophet speak?" and Philip opened his mouth and told him the "good news" of Jesus.
The chapter prophesies the great joy that shall be expressed by clergy and laity alike and the encouragement given, yea commanded, to those who may choose to remain in Babylon to exercise their freedom also.
