Chapter 57 begins to list the reasons for the ultimate destruction of Israel. Listed here are gross idolatries and spiritual deficiencies. These are the sins that brought judgment upon them. This is brought to their attention in order to refresh their memories and to help them to learn from the mistakes of the past.
Observed here also is the plight of good men who were taken away also and warning those who did not learn from this experience. He brings hope to all in the promise of God to return them to their homeland and re-establish their nation.
