Jeremiah's Warning to Judah

Click here to read Jeremiah 4.

The first two verses of this chapter belong to the preceding chapter; they refer to the 10 northern tribes of Israel. They offer words of encouragement to them for their determination to comply with God's call. In the remaining verses, Jeremiah warns Judah about Nebuchadnezzer. He sees him as the instrument of God's judgment upon them, judgment for their sins of hypocrisy, corruption, idolatry and adultery. He warns that if these and others are not repented of, there will be complete destruction of Judah. Here he laments the thought of that destruction.
