Chapters 22 thru 25 record sermons that Jeremiah preached in the King's Court warning them of the fall of Jerusalem. He included in these sermons all the previous warnings so that none could say they were not told.
A message is here sent to the Royal Family, to Hehoiakim, relating partly to Jehoahaz (Shallum) being carried away captive into Egypt and partly to Jehoiakim, who followed him as King of Judah. They are warned of the impending doom but given cause to find encouragement if they would judge rightly.
Another message is recorded here; one sent to Jehoiachin (Jeconiah) the son of Jehoiakim, which charges him with total disobedience and promises complete destruction.
