Chapters 30 thru 33 describe Jeremiah's hope for the future. The "tone" changes from condemnation to promise. The truth of Jeremiah's prophecies were evident. There was no denying the destruction. Jeremiah's job now was not to say, " I told you so," but it was to offer to them hope. He was instructed by the Lord, to assure them that there would be a restoration, that His covenant with them would be renewed even though He had sent them into captivity He would in due time, restore them to Judah, and their city (Jerusalem) would be rebuilt. And their numbers increased and their government established.
