This chapter prophesies the destruction of the Philistines by the armies of Babylon. Here Jeremiah reads the Philistines their doom. The chapter is short but the destruction was great and it went up the coast and included the coastal cities of Tyre and Sidon, which laid a great distance north of Philistia. Foretold is the great terror that would come from the forces of the north and their long and fruitless efforts to put an end to it that would be in vain.
