Job Questions God Again

Click here to read Job 10.

Chapter 10 continues Job's admission of confusion. He comforts himself with the belief that he was in the hand of God who had made and sustained him up to this point. He concluded again that death would put an end to his troubles.

Notice Job's attempt to defend himself:

  1. He believes that he has the right to know why God was punishing hum.
  2. He asks God if His reason for bringing him into this world was simply to destroy him.
  3. "Why, he asks, did you ever let me be born?"

Notice how Job describes death:

  1. It is a land of "darkness".
  2. It is a land where only confusion reigns.
  3. It is a land where the brightest light is as dark as midnight.

Yet to Job, death was a place to escape the misery of this life.
