Bildad Again Replies

Click here to read Job 18.

Chapter 18 records Bildad's second assault against Job. At this point, Bildad ceases to be gentle. He firmly condemns Job of being stubborn and immovable in his opinion of himself. He again reminds Job that the condition in which he finds himself is the condition of a wicked man; therefore, "thou art one".

He says to Job, "Who are you trying to fool?" "Speak some since if you want us to answer." "The truth remains, if you do not prosper it is because you are wicked." "The stride of the wicked will be shortened, there will be traps in every path that he takes and he has good cause to fear." "Death will devour him and he the wealth that he trusted in will reject him." "No one will remember him, he will be driven out of the kingdom of light into darkness and chased out of the world." "Yes, this is what happens to sinners."
