Job Denounces Justice

Click here to read Job 24.

Chapter 24 continues Job's debate of the doctrine of judgment in this world for the wicked. He showed other examples of people who lived prosperous lives yet were un-godly and profane. Some even lived openly in defiance of God. Therefore he determined that we couldn't say that all who are in trouble are wicked for it was certain that all who prospered were not righteous.

"Why doesn't God open His court and hear my case?" "A crime wave has engulfed us - landmarks are moved, live stock are stolen, the poor and fatherless are taken, poor widows must surrender all that they have as a pledge for a lone." "The wicked rebel against the light, murders rise early to complete their evil deeds, thieves and adulters await the darkness when no one will see them." "But how quickly they disappear." "Everything that they own is cursed." "Death consumes them, even the sinners own mother forgets them." "Yet sometimes it seems that God preserves the wicked and prospers them." "He restores them to life and gives them confidence and strength." " Look around you, who can claim me a liar?"
