Job Pleads His Case

Click here to read Job 31.

Chapter 31 records the sins for which he claimed innocence:

  1. Uncleanness of heart.
  2. Fraud.
  3. Injustice.
  4. Adultry.
  5. Haughtiness.
  6. Severity towards his servants.
  7. Merciless toward the poor.
  8. Self confidence in his worldly goods.
  9. Idolatry.
  10. Hypocracy.
  11. Invasion of the rights of others.

These were considered the sins of a wicked man. Surly he must have been guilty of them all to have been judged as harshly as he was. But Job said no, and he appealed to God to support his innocence. With these words, Job ended his defence.
