Elihu Condemns Job

Click here to read Job 35.

Chapter 35 finds Job still silent. Eli-hu continues with his opinion of Job's sin.

  1. Job had represented religion as an indifferent thing.
  2. He had accused God of being deaf to his cries.
  3. He had grown impatient for Gods favor to return to him.

All this Eli-hu says is the reason God has delayed in returning His favor. He then tries to put this whole thing of sin in its proper perspective. To Job and to his friends, he says, "Look up into the sky, if you sin, does that shake the heavens and knock God off of His throne?" "Even if you sin many times, what effect does this have on Him?" "Or, if you are good, what effect does this have on Him?" "Your sins may hurt man and your good deeds may help man but they have little effect on Him." "Yet it is wrong to say that He does not hear your cries and it is wrong to say that He don't know what is going on for He does bring about justice if you only wait."
