Chapter 37 completes the debate. Eli-hu extols the power of God in the heavens with the weather and explains how foolish it is to complain or try to change the weather. He applies this to Job's condition. How useless it was for Job to complain or try to change his plight. He tells Job that God is great and is much to be feared.
Elihu says that his heart trembles when he hears the thunder and sees the lightening flash across the sky. God's voice is glorious in the thunder. He directs the storm and man's work must stop because they recognize His power. From the south comes the rain and from the north comes the cold. "Listen Job", Elihu says, "Stop and consider the wonderful miracles of God." "If you think you know so much, teach the rest of us." " We cannot imagine the power of the Almighty and yet He is just and merciful that He does not destroy us.'
