Chapter 41 proceeds with God's humbling of Job by showing him how unable he was to even catch a fish. A very large and strong sea monster called a Leviathan was used and Job was to weak to subdue and land the fish. This God did to show Job his weakness.

God introduces into the dialogue impossible tasks for Job to do using creatures and conditions here on earth that Job was familiar with. He concludes that if Job could not subdue the sea monster, how could he contend with God?
