Chapter 16 describes the bounds of the land given to the Tribe of Ephraim. Ephraim's southern boundary began at the Jordan River near Gilgal. It ran east past Jericho to Gezer. Then the east boundary ran north from Gezer along the Ajalon River to the Kanah River. Then eastward with it's northern boundary along the Kanah River back to the Jordan. The Jordan River being its eastern boundary. Ephraim was bounded in the south by the Tribe of Benjamin, on the west by Dan, on the north by Manasseh and on the east by Gad.
