Manasseh's Inheritance

Click here to read Joshua 17.

Chapter 17 describes the land given to the rest of the tribe of Manasseh. Moses had given Manasseh's oldest sons family in Num. Ch. 32, land east of the Jordan River. The families of the remaining 6 sons are here given the land north of Ephraim. Also included were the families of the 5 daughters of Zelophehad who had come to Eleazar the Priest and were given their father's inheritance since he had no sons.

Manasseh's southern boundary was the northern boundary of Ephraim. Their eastern boundary was the Jordan River. Their western boundary was the Mediterranean Sea and their northern boundary was not clearly defined but tradition mentions Mt. Carmel on the west and Mt. Bilboa on the east.
