Charges Against Nineveh

Chapter 3 lists the charges that God had against the city of Nineveh. Murder, prostitution and witchcraft are listed as the sins of Nineveh. Nahum also lists other nations that God destroyed for like sins and then he lists the things that Nineveh put their trust in, mistakenly, things that failed them.

1. Their own strength and bravery.
2. Their army and their fortifications.
3. Their large population.
4. Their walls and their gates.
5. Their leadership.
6. Their ability to rebound from defeat.

Nahum says that these things cannot save them. They will be dispersed and no man will ever be able to gather them back again. The havoc that they had reaped upon others will be heaped upon them.
